The campaigning continues in Iowa. Sarah Palin the former Alaska governor stands up for Republican forerunner Donald Trump. It seems as though at the current moment Donald Trump is neck and neck with Ted Cruz the Texas republican candidate. Now with the Palin endorsement he may just soon be in the lead. She praises him by saying “He is from the private sector, not a politician. Can I get a ‘Hallelujah!’” With her connections in Iowa she was clearly going to try to help Donald Trump campaign there and she did. Remember she was the former governor of Alaska and at one point in the running as vice president for John McCain race in 2008. Even though Trump supporters may not all be a fan of Sarah Palin it did not stop them from taking on the cold temperatures to support their candidate.
In the past few years Palin has made endorsements for other republicans as well. During their statewide elections she has made endorsements for now candidate Ted Cruz, Senator Rand Paul, and even David Dewhurst. Dewhurst owed his election success into the Senate due in part by Palin. Since Palin chose not to continue as governor of Alaska after the losing election as vice president, endorsing politicians has been a way for her to remain in the political limelight. Palin has been a Fox News commentator and a television star as well. She sees Trumps ability to succeed streaming from the fact that he is a business man with a plan.
Her endorsing him with undoubtedly create a media frenzy. Hoping this will cause not only more media attention to voters and increase Trump’s stands in the polls. Since she has proven to be such a success in the republican party there should be no reason it wouldn’t be the same for Trump. Some of his followers tend to disagree but see it as a good move on Trump’s part. This endorsement will not determine or insure his victory but it definitely couldn’t hurt. It is a shock for so many that he has even made it this far and the fact that he is not a politician is one of the biggest reasons why. In Iowa’s case, her stream of connections could very well lead him to success.
Her use of the words “..suicide bombers,” referring to the other candidates choosing not to discuss these subjects with voters, is a tactic that Donald Trump uses. Using fear as a way to get the voters on his side. His plan to ban Muslims from entering the country is based off his fear of what could happen. His fear yes it legitimate and his plan to attack strong is attracting his followers. Palin uses that tactic against his fellow candidates. Is her endorsement sincere or just another way for her to get some publicity? How to build up your credit score isn’t something she is concerned about but maybe she needed media attention. Some believe that it’s maybe both. Either way it could potentially work in Trumps favor.
